As part of Council’s continuing commitment to the indigenous community of Hindmarsh Shire the Mayor or his/her representative will make the following introductory statement at all Civic Ceremonies of the Hindmarsh Shire Council:

“Welcome to the Hindmarsh Shire. We recognise the important ongoing role that indigenous people have in our community and pay our respects to their elders and people both living and past.”
