Hindmarsh Shire Council provides a wide range of environmental health services including food safety, health registrations, domestic wastewater management, public health protection and local law (amenity).

Hindmarsh Shire Council is a partner in the Wimmera Primary Care Partnership and was a key contributor to the Wimmera Healthy Communities Plan, a regional health planning initiative for the period beyond 2005.

The Hindmarsh Municipal Public Health Plan is currently under review with consultations occurring with many community organisations and professionals during 2008.
