The Hindmarsh Shire Council has significant roles and responsibilities under Part 4 of the Emergency Management Act 1986. The Hindmarsh Shire Council has established an Emergency Management Plan process pursuant to Section 20(1) of the Emergency Management Act 1986. The Emergency Management Plan addresses the prevention of, response to and recovery from emergencies within the Hindmarsh Shire and is the result of the co-operative efforts of the emergency management planning committee and others.
