Hindmarsh Shire Council invites and encourages parents to take their young children to join in the activities of this year’s Children’s Week celebrations. All Children’s Week activities are tailored toward children aged five years and under, which will be held between 22 – 29 October.
Children’s Week is an annual event that recognises and celebrates the right of all children to enjoy and learn from early childhood experiences that will assist them to realise their individual potential as they thrive, learn and grow.
Children's Week -Through Our Eyes - Celebrating Diversity represents one of the largest community celebrations focusing on young children exploring new experiences.
All children are unique and special, and each will learn and grow in their own time and way. It’s an exciting period of a child’s life, when they begin to discover new things about the world around them. It’s also a rather exciting time for parents, who can help their children to learn through the simple joy of playing. It’s also a great opportunity for younger children to be able to display their talents, skills and achievements and celebrate the earlier years of childhood.
Activities will be held at Dimboola, Jeparit, Nhill and Rainbow, and have been organised by local schools, childcare centres, playgroups, cultural and community groups.
