PREPARING FOR THE 'RE-OPENING' OF THE TOURISM SECTOR

Following announcements from the Victorian Government on 25 May, we can expect to see a gradual increase in visitors travelling to and through Hindmarsh Shire. The Victorian Tourism Industry Council as released "Tourism Re-opening Program: Guiding Steps for the Victorian Tourism Industry". This is a very handy resource for not only tourism and hospitality businesses, but also any businesses with customer/consumer interaction.

  • Impacts to workforce
  • Any specific training/support needed (eg. Moving your business online)

HAVE YOUR INPUT

A national economic impact study is being conducted by REMPLAN. This is to gain an insight into change of employment and economic impact at an industry scale, and how these impacts vary from state to state and region to region. The information gathered in this survey will assist in future grant opportunities to support recovery by providing strong quantifiable evidence of the impacts.

COVID-19 COMMUNITY UPDATE

The council customer service centres will be closed to the public and the telephone operating system will be operational between the hours of 9:30am and 3.30pm from Monday to Friday effective 26 May 2020 until further notice.

From Tuesday 2 June 2020, appointments may be made between the hours of 10am to 12noon and 2pm to 3pm, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Appointments can only be made for services that cannot be otherwise resolved by telephone or online and must be made in advance.
