NEW BOOK TITLES
With the current stop on courier services to transfer books around the State of Victoria, don’t despair – Hindmarsh Shire Libraries has plenty of new titles for you to read or listen too.  All things Colleen Hoover, new Australian murder titles like Shelley Burr’s “Wake”, Michael Trant’s “Wild Dogs”.  New e-resources include Jane Harper’s “Exiles”, Brooke Blurton’s “Big Love”, Richard Fidler’s “the Book of Roads and Kingdoms” and “The Tilt” by Chris Hammer.  Not sure what to borrow and read?  Please ask your friendly staff at your local branch to help guide your next reading adventure.

WRITERS GROUP
Developing on from our Story Competition “Growing up in Hindmarsh”, Jeparit Writers Group has been meeting this year and have been prolific in extending their writing skills and experience.  The two December meetings are Monday 5 and Monday 19 December, from 10am till noon.  Monday 19 December is the last writers group for the year, and they will resume their group Monday 30 January 2023.

Would you like to be part of our existing writers group?  Or would you like to find fellow creatives in your town to create your own Writers Group?  Please do not hesitate to contact Coordinator Libraries Services, Whitney Kingston on 03 5391 4452.

ELECTRONIC RESOURCES
For those not familiar with Libby app or BorrowBox app, a Hindmarsh Shire Libraries card allows you to access thousands of FREE electronic resources.  Magazines from across the world are available on the Libby app with both e-books and audio books available on the BorrowBox app.  Not sure where to start?  Just ask one of our friendly staff next time you're in your local branch of Hindmarsh Shire Libraries.

HINDMARSH HITS THE ROAD
Hindmarsh Shire Libraries have successfully secured full funding from the State Government’s Living Libraries program to enable the purchase and fit out a mobile van.  The mobile van will have internet access, items to borrow from the library and the capacity to showcase our fantastic Council, Library and Youth Services for future events.  Look out for the van on a road near you next year.

PIECES OF YOU
Hindmarsh Shire Libraries have also been successful in securing a State Library Victoria Innovation Grant.  This creative Hindmarsh Shire Jigsaw project will significantly compliment programs in place at our libraries, while creating social connection and inclusion throughout the Shire.  Keep an eye out for more information early next year.

HOLIDAY CLOSURE
Hindmarsh Shire Libraries and Council Offices will be closed from 12pm midday, Thursday 22 December and re-open for business as usual, Tuesday 3 January 2023.  Hindmarsh Shire Libraries wish you all a safe and happy holiday season.
