Film Enquiries

Hindmarsh Shire is a film-friendly location while balancing the local amenity of residents and businesses.

The information on this page relates to commercial filming, including television, feature films, advertising and television commercials, documentaries and music videos.

All commercial filming activities are requires to apply for a permit for the use of a public space. This ensures the activity is in accordance with the regulations of this council/department. A list of our general terms and conditions is attached below.

Filming Permits

In Hindmarsh Shire, filming permission is granted under the “Application for Events in Public Places” permit.

We will respond to your application within five business days of receiving it. Please note that if we need to make complex arrangements for your filming activity it may take us more than five days to issue a permit.

NOTE: Any commercial filming within a National Park or Reserve will necessitate obtaining a permit from Parks Victoria

COVID-19 COMMUNITY UPDATE

With the announcement of changes in the restrictions commencing 11:59pm tonight (Thursday 9 September 2021), the following services are to change:

Our Customer Service Centre’s and Libraries will reopen to the public on Friday with density limits.

All outdoor playgrounds and skate parks will be open but indoor recreation facilities will remain closed as per the restrictions.

Transfer stations will be open to the public, with free green waste month being held from Friday 10 September to Sunday 10 October 2021.

Please make sure you wear masks both indoors and outdoors, and use the State Government QR codes to check in.
