Businesses can access free mentoring through the Victorian Government’s mentoring program https://www.business.vic.gov.au/support-for-your-business/grants-and-assistance/small-business-mentoring-program which pairs them up with someone who can help their business adapt its current strategy to survive the impacts of coronavirus.
Through Upskill My Business, business owners can gain practical skills from the state’s top education providers and industry experts to set them up for a strong recovery.
The $534 million Business Support Package is providing more support to help businesses and workers through to the other side of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
To help maintain your wellbeing, the Business Victoria website has information on the support available for business owners to help manage the stress and challenges of running a business during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Businesses should also speak with their accountant and bank or financial institutions about what they can do to shore up finances while restrictions are in place.
For those businesses that suffer significant losses or need to close as a result of the current restrictions, support will be be provided through our expanded Business Support Fund.
Businesses in regional Victoria can apply for a $5,000 grant while those in Melbourne and Mitchell Shire can apply for up to $10,000 in recognition of spending longer under restrictions.
And for those businesses and industries that fall into grey areas when it comes to their operation, the dedicated Industry Coordination Centre within the Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions will consider their case.
As of 11:59pm Wednesday 16 September 2020, Regional Victoria will move into the third step of the COVID-19 Roadmap to Recovery. Read below for an update on the changes to Council’s services.
Unfortunately we are unable to open our libraries, so libraries and customer service centres will remain closed, except that the Nhill office will now be open from 10am to Midday and 2pm to 4pm Monday to Friday without the need to make an appointment, although appointments are encouraged. Only click and collect services will be available at our libraries, for more information on this, click here.
Our parks, playgrounds and skate parks will all be open as of today and people are able to gather (up to 10 people) outdoors.
Halls and the cinema will remain closed as under the third step indoor venues are to be closed.
