Future-proof your family farm business at Kaniva

Canola crop at early flowering stage

Kaniva and surrounding farmers are invited to participate in a free 2-day workshop to help ‘future-proof’ your family farm business with adaptive planning skills. Develop practical strategies to manage climate risk, build resilience and shape a stronger, more adaptable business.

Presenter Dr Kate Burke is an independent farm consultant, agri-strategist and educator with extensive experience across all aspects of farm business management. Kate provides insights into crucial farm success factors, including:

  • optimising productivity
  • farm financial performance
  • people, leadership and succession
  • managing climate variability and uncertainty.

Participants will:

  • determine what's most important to them
  • improve the productivity, people and profit components of their business
  • identify strategies for balancing growth and risk
  • prioritise and plan.

Participants can also review their business plans following the workshop in a one-on-one session with Kate.

Farmers from the Hindmarsh Shire municipality are welcome to attend this workshop.

Feedback from previous course participants:

‘We appreciated the time away to focus on the bigger picture with our business partners’.

‘All this stuff is connected; most courses just deal with one topic in isolation. This workshop is unique’.
