Kenmare State School

Kenmare PS.jpg
Built in 1903 from local limestone, this single room school housed the educational requirements for local students for 78 years until its closure in 1982.

A visit to Kenmare State School, which has been kept restored gives a glimpse of what schools were like for our past leaders, family members, business leaders and others. The school building itself is not open to the public, but worth the trip to see an authentic early regional school.

16km east of Rainbow along the Birchip-Rainbow Road, diagonally opposite the Kenmare Fire Station.
