Rainbow Silo Art
RAINBOW SILO ART: AN EXPERIENCE LIKE NO OTHER
Taking the Silo Art Trail to the next level (28 metres to be exact!), the Rainbow Silo incorporates a lookout tower and internal artwork within the silo which is accessible via an elevator and/or staircase.
View the fantastic external artwork by Geoffrey Carran from various heights as you make your way up the tower inspired by a Euphorbia Trigona cactus from neighbouring Llew Schilling's garden and a Mallee Emu Wren endemic to the local region.
The mesmerising internal silo art by Collide Public Art (lead artist James Voller) incorporates lighting and imagery inspired by the flowers in Llew's garden hanging in the immense silo space. This can be viewed from 2 viewpoints. The lower walking platform at 8m gives access to the artwork before continuing on to the 2nd silo bin giving a unique view of the inside of a grain silo unimpacted by artwork installation. At the 28m level the stair and elevator exit to a large viewing platform giving expansive views across Rainbow and the southern Wimmera Mallee before leading into a top viewing point of the internal silo art. The artwork and lookout views will leave you breathless!
The lookout tower and internal access is controlled by an automatic gate. This can be accessed free of charge via an access code - see below for more information on how to obtain this code.
