Whose Road is it?

Hindmarsh Shire Council manages and maintains most roads located within Hindmarsh Shire, however there are some main roads and highways that are managed by the State Victorian Government's Department of Transport and Planning (DTP). These roads are listed below:

Victorian DTP Managed Highways:
  • Borung Highway
  • Western Highway
Victorian DTP Managed Arterial (Main) Roads:
  • Birchip-Rainbow Road
  • Dimboola-Rainbow Road
  • Hopetoun-Rainbow Road
  • Jeparit-Warracknabeal Road
  • Nhill-Harrow Road
  • Nhill-Jeparit Road
  • Nhill-Netherby Road
  • Nhill-Yanac Road
  • Warracknabeal-Rainbow Road

These roads and highways are 100% funded and maintained by the Victorian State Government.
