Hindmarsh Shire Council is pleased to announce the successful recipients of Round Two of the 2025/2026 Regional Community Events Grant Program, supporting initiatives that strengthen community connection and boost the local visitor economy.

Council has allocated $30,000 to the annual program, with applicants eligible for grants of up to $7,500, comprising both cash contributions and in‑kind support. After assessing each project submission against the program’s eligibility and selection criteria, Council has awarded $7,000 in Round Two to three successful applicants:

Marathon Adventures – Dimboola Dash 2026 awarded $2,000
The Dimboola Dash will bring visitors to the region while supporting the communities of Dimboola and Natimuk following recent fires. The event will showcase the newly completed Wimmera River Discovery Trail and create the foundations for a new annual recreational event.

Tower Park Dimboola – Dimboola Fun‑Fest Series awarded $4,000
The Fun‑Fest series will expand on the popular Tower Park Markets by offering themed events throughout 2026, encouraging return visitation and providing new economic opportunities for local businesses. Funding will support start‑up and transition costs as the series shifts into a broader event format.

Woorak Hall – Centenary Celebrations awarded $1,000
The Woorak Hall Centenary will bring together residents, former locals, and visitors to celebrate a significant milestone for the community. While a one‑off event, it is expected to stimulate local visitation. The project aligns closely with Council’s community‑focused priorities.

Hindmarsh Shire Council Mayor, Cr Ron Ismay, said “These grants help empower our community groups to deliver events that not only celebrate our local identity but also attract visitors, stimulate business activity, and bring people together.”
