Quarterly Council Plan Actions Update – Q1 2025/2026

At the Council Meeting held on Wednesday 29 October 2025, an update was provided on the progress of action items contained in the Council Plan Actions for 2025/2026. The Hindmarsh Shire Council Plan 2025-2029 is a four-year document that guides Council’s operations and makes sure projects and services that matter most to the community are prioritised.

The Council Plan Actions were adopted on 29 August 2025, with many actions to commence in Quarters 2-4.

Key achievements for July – September 2025 include:

  • The completion and opening of the Wimmera River Discovery Trail
  • Preparation of the draft Asset Management Plan
  • 17 new suppliers added to the Panel of Preferred Suppliers following a tender process
  • Adoption of a Sponsorship and Donation policy, enabling increased collaboration between Council and the community
  • Progress on the master plan projects for Davis Park, Dimboola Recreation Reserve and Jeparit Tennis Club / Caravan Park precinct
  • Delivery of the September/October school holidays program
  • Significant advocacy work by Council and the CEO on items identified as community priorities
  • Near completion of the feasibility study for the Jeparit Weir
  • 90% completion of new grandstand and football change room facilities at Davis Park, Nhill
  • Plans in place for community-based planning for the fire season
  • Appointment of a curator for the Wimmera Mallee Pioneer Museum in Jeparit
  • Significant Council communications via newsletter, media release and social media
