Hindmarsh Shire Council is hosting a series of community walks and barbeque teas in Nhill, Dimboola, Jeparit, and Rainbow to support the 16 Days of Activism campaign to stop gender-based violence.
Join us from 6:00pm – 7:30pm for these free events on the following dates:
Attendees are asked to wear orange and bring banners or signs of support. Any person unable to join the walk is welcome to attend the free barbeque tea.
All community members, schools, sporting clubs and other organisations are encouraged to attend and show their support for this movement to raise awareness and create discussion around this important issue.
The United Nation’s international campaign, 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, takes place each year from 25 November until 10 December. The campaign aims to unite communities and call for the elimination of gendered violence.
Hindmarsh Shire Council has received funding from Respect Victoria’s 16 Days of Activism Grassroots Initiative for these events.
