Nhill Aviation Heritage Centre Start Up Day - Nhill Heritage Weekend

Expect a lot of noise, smoke and action out at the Nhill Aviation Heritage Centre on Saturday 25 October 2025 as part of the Nhill Heritage Weekend.

The Avro Anson and Wirraway aircraft will be wheeled out of the Ahrens Hangar for the first time in four years. Their engines will be started up at 11am and again at 2pm, and although Nhill’s Tiger Moth will not be in operation, other antique aircraft are expected to be flying in throughout the day.

The Nhill Aeradio building on Propodollah Road will also be open on both Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th from 2-4pm. This is the only surviving Civil Aviation Building left in Australia and has a range of equipment and memorabilia on display.

Free entry will be offered all weekend from 10am – 4pm.
