Hindmarsh Shire Council will be accepting green waste disposal at Transfer Stations free of charge throughout October 2026. This is an opportunity to tidy up your properties in the lead up to summer.

Nhill is set to have a town-wide garage sale event the weekend of 3-4 October 2026. Coinciding with the already popular 'first of the month' business activities including the Book Fair and CWA Pop Up Op Shop, the 'whole of town' garage sale is a way to reduce waste, promote a circular economy and socially connect with others in the community. The Lions Club will be holding a large furniture sale during the weekend as well as organising market stalls and their ever popular BBQ.
For people wanting to participate registrations will be open until Monday 27 September 2026. A list of participating homes will be available in local shops and websites prior to the weekend.
