Hindmarsh Shire Council is excited to have committed to the second iteration of the Communities of Respect and Equality (CoRE) Strategy (2021 – 2025).

CoRE is an alliance of organisations, businesses, clubs and groups that are committed to creating safe, equal and respectful communities in the Grampians region. The foundations of the Strategy remain the same but with new initiatives, focus areas and emerging priorities that will be incorporated over the next four years.

Chief Executive Officer of Hindmarsh Shire Council, Greg Wood said that the second iteration of the CoRE Strategy has “come at an opportune time as Council is in the process of implementing the requirements of the Gender Equality Act 2020”.

“We are excited to implement changes in the organisation and in the broader community to help reduce violence against women and children,”

“Violence against women and children is a significant issue in our community and as a Council we have a responsibility to be doing what we can to prevent it,” said Mr Wood.
