Hindmarsh Shire Council is proudly participating in 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence. The campaign runs from Friday 25 November until Saturday 10 December 2022.

Council has received funding from Safe and Equal - Respect Victoria and will use this funding to provide a FREE community screening of a documentary Brazen Hussies on Thursday 1 December 2022 from 7pm at the Nhill Cinema, 77-79 Nelson Street Nhill.

Brazen Hussies celebrates the social activism and grass-roots nature of the women’s liberation movement – featuring key activists’ passionate testimonies. Brazen Hussies shows us how a daring and diverse group of women joined forces to defy the status quo, demand equality and create profound social change – contributing to one of the greatest social movements of the 20th century.

Before the screening a representative from Women's Health Grampians will speak on prevention of violence against women, the importance of being an active bystander, and continuing on the work of gender equality.

The night will conclude with a Free Supper provided.
