Hindmarsh Shire Council Community Action Grants Awarded

Hindmarsh Shire Council has awarded $10,144.88 in grant funding to 11 local community organisations through Round One of the 2025/2026 Community Action Grants Program.
The purpose of the Community Action Grants program is to support the operation of invaluable volunteer groups in the Shire and enable them to deliver projects that support the wider community.
Hindmarsh Shire Council Mayor, Cr Ron Ismay, said “It’s fantastic that Council can continue to support local community organisations and the incredible work that they do through our Community Action Grants Program. This year, we saw a range of applicants from community groups who have genuinely considered projects that will improve their services, protect their assets, and support their volunteers.”
Hindmarsh Shire Council congratulates the recipients listed below and wishes them well for their upcoming projects and events.
- Dimboola Croquet Club will receive $863.64 to assist with the construction of a shelter to protect their main entrance to their clubrooms from the weather.
- Nhill A&P Society Vintage Club Inc. will receive $1,000.00 towards a new storage shed.
- Nhill Golf Club Inc. will receive $1,000.00 towards updating and replacing their club’s kitchen facilities.
- Nhill and District Historical Society will receive $1,000.00 towards the purchase of a laptop, printer and an electronic payment machine.
- Dimboola Cemetery will receive $828.64 towards purchasing a chainsaw and native plants to maintain the presentation of the cemetery.
- Nhill Bowling Club Inc. will receive $908.18 for cleaning equipment to maintain and clean the clubrooms.
- Dimboola Sporting Club will receive $1,000.00 for the purchase of a cabinet for a defibrillator.
- Dimboola Tennis Club will receive $854.54 towards the purchase of tennis balls for games and to subsidise playing shirts.
- Rainbow Recreation Reserve will receive $814.55 for the purchase of two vacuums.
- Nhill Aviation Heritage Centre will receive $944.55 towards the purchase of a computer which will be utilised by volunteers when cataloguing museum items, as well as by visitors who wish to look up war service records.
- Dimboola RSL Sub-Branch will receive $930.78 to assist with the purchase of new shelves and cupboards for the RSL Hall.
Cr Ismay said, “I encourage any organisations who are looking for assistance to consider submitting an application for Round Two of our Community Action Grants program in the new year.”
