Hindmarsh Shire Council is delighted to announce a fun-filled and diverse program for the upcoming June/July 2026 school holidays, with a fantastic range of activities for young people and families across the Shire.

This FREE school holiday program features something for everyone, including creative workshops like Make Your Own Shrinky Dink, Cookie Decorating with Tegan, and Get Creative with Turbo Gallery, as well as opportunities to get active with a Basketball Clinic, Badminton Clinic, and a Multi-Sports Day.

Young people who love to move can join Dance with Katherine Fraser, while those looking for a more relaxed experience can enjoy Board Games and Puzzles sessions and then unwind at the Minions and Monsters Movie screening at the Nhill Cinema.

NAIDOC (National Aboriginal and Islanders Day Observance Committee) Week will be held from Sunday 5 July to Sunday 12 July 2026. To celebrate this significant week, Hindmarsh Shire Council will host special NAIDOC Week Story Time sessions in all Hindmarsh libraries, followed by a themed activity for children and families to enjoy.

These sessions provide a meaningful opportunity for the community to come together to celebrate the rich cultures, histories, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC Week is also a time to recognise the strength, talent, and resilience of First Nations communities, and to acknowledge the invaluable contributions they continue to make across Australia.

Council is proud to deliver a program that supports local families and brings the community together through engaging and accessible activities. These activities are supported by the State Government, Engage! Funding and Hindmarsh Shire Libraries.

Families are encouraged to register early to avoid missing out on any of the activities.
