Library Storytime focusses on Dental Health Week

Hindmarsh Shire Libraries is excited to hold a themed Storytime to promote Dental Health Week 2025. The Australian Dental Association’s annual campaign is held from 04 – 10 August, and this year’s theme is shining a light on the importance of children’s oral health milestones – or “Smilestones" – on the journey from birth to baby teeth and beyond. Dental Health Week is a great time for families to talk about good oral health habits, like brushing teeth twice a day – in the morning after breakfast and in the evening before bed – and having regular dental check-ups.

Hindmarsh Shire Libraries has received a ‘Healthy Little Smiles at Library Storytime’ resource kit, generously provided by Oral Health Victoria, which will enable the running of the special Storytime session at our Dimboola branch on Friday 08 August 2025 from 10:00am. These resource kits include toothbrushing packs and toothbrushing charts for families to take home from Storytime.

We invite families with children aged 0 - 5 years to attend this session of Storytime and learn all about “Smilestones”.
