Seniors Festival Returns to Hindmarsh

Hindmarsh Shire Council will celebrate the Victorian Seniors Festival throughout October 2026 with a program of free events and activities across the Shire. This year’s theme, “Connect, Create, Celebrate”, encourages older Victorians to come together, discover new interests and enjoy social connection.

Seniors Festival Events in Hindmarsh

All Seniors Festival events held in Hindmarsh Shire during October are free of charge.

Seniors Concert

Community members are invited to a free Seniors Concert featuring Frankly Sinatra – A Tribute to Ol’ Blue Eyes, performing the songs of Frank Sinatra. This event will be held on Thursday 8 October 2026 at the Nhill Memorial Community Centre. The doors will open from 10:30am, with the concert commencing at 11:00am. Buses will be available from Rainbow, Jeparit and Dimboola.

This is a free event, but tickets are essential. To book a ticket, or reserve a seat on the bus, contact Council on 03 5391 4444 or visit a Customer Service Centre or Library.

Bookings are expected to fill quickly, so early registration is encouraged.

Men’s Day Tour

Targeted at people aged 60+, veterans, retirees, Men’s Shed members and people from multi-faith communities or diverse cultural backgrounds, the Men’s Day Tour will travel through the Little Desert, Natimuk, Horsham and Murtoa on Wednesday 21 October 2026. Highlights of the tour will include the Little Desert National Park, Natimuk Climbing Museum, the Murtoa Stick Shed and more.

Relax, Create & Relate

Seniors can unlock their creativity and enjoy social connection through fun craft activities, including modelling clay, painting, puzzles and more. Light refreshments and craft resources are provided.

This Positive Aging Program is funded by the Victorian Government. No bookings are required.

Planning Ahead Sessions with Seniors Rights Victoria

Hindmarsh Shire Council has partnered with Seniors Rights Victoria to deliver ‘Planning Ahead’ sessions covering enduring powers of attorney, medical treatment decision-making and advance care planning.

Nhill Cinema Classic Movie Screenings

Community members are invited to the Nhill Memorial Community Centre for classic movie screenings on Tuesday 13 October 2026, featuring ‘Red Dog’, and Tuesday 27 October 2026, featuring ‘Yesterday’.

Morning tea will be served at 10:00am, with movie screenings commencing at 10:30am.

Historical Society Open Days

Historical societies across Hindmarsh Shire will open their doors during the Victorian Seniors Festival, with free entry and light refreshments provided.
