Summer Transfer Station Hours and Fire Danger Closures

Hindmarsh Shire Council is modifying the operating hours for all transfer stations in the municipality during the summer period to ensure the safety of both staff and the public.

From Tuesday 1 December 2026 through until Sunday 28 February 2027, all transfer stations will be open from 9:00am to 12:00noon operating on the following schedule:

Council's standard operating hours will resume on Sunday 01 March 2026.

Closures on Catastrophic Fire Danger Days
Whenever the Country Fire Brigade (CFA) declares a Catastrophic Fire Danger rating for the Wimmera region, Council will close all Transfer Stations for the day. For more information about Catastrophic Fire Danger ratings, visit the CFA website.

Council will post all emergency closures on the Hindmarsh Shire Council Facebook page. Please check Facebook before leaving home on very hot or windy days.

Closures on Public Holidays
All Transfer Stations will be closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day public holidays.
