The State Government has mandated that all Councils implement the four-bin system by 1 July 2027. The intention is to reduce landfill waste and improve resource recovery.

Hindmarsh Shire is now preparing for implementation of FOGO services with a goal to provide all households with a FOGO bin by 2027.

We want to hear from you on the preferred option for FOGO and general waste (rubbish) collection. These options include:

  • Option 1: Weekly FOGO and Fortnightly General Waste Collection
  • Option 2: Fortnightly FOGO and Weekly General Waste Collection
  • Option 3: Fortnightly FOGO and Fortnightly General Waste Collection
  • Option 4: Weekly FOGO and Weekly General Waste Collection

Please note that collection frequency of recycling (yellow lid bin) and glass (purple bin) is to remain the same as it currently is.
