Since 1973 the Jeparit and District Historical Society has been collecting photographs, other records and ephemera chronicling the evolution of the community from the late 1800s and, where possible, records relating to First Nations people. As the birthplace of Sir Robert Menzies, the Society holds records relating to the Menzies family. The Society uses social media to actively promote and share its collection and initiatives and to establish then maintain a community of people far and wide interested in the district’s history especially its families and organisations. The Society holds the original Jeparit Leader newspapers, 1893-1988.
