The United Nation’s international campaign, 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, takes place each year from 25 November until 10 December. The campaign aims to unite the community and call for the elimination of gendered violence.
Hindmarsh Shire Council has received funding from Respect Victoria’s 16 Days of Activism Grassroots Initiative and will be hosting a colour run and barbeque tea in each of the four towns within Hindmarsh.
The dates for the community events are as follows:
A colour run involves attendees running or walking a circuit, while colourful powder is thrown onto them. The events will be free for all to attend, and attendees are asked to bring along suitable footwear, eye protection and a change of clothes or a towel.
Community members, schools, sporting clubs and other organisations are encouraged to attend and show their support for this movement.
Feel free to join for a lap of the circuit or simply come along and watch the fun and enjoy the free barbeque tea.
