Hindmarsh Shire Council is excited to reveal the recent completion of the ‘Cover to Cover’ project at the Dimboola Library and Customer Service Centre, all made possible through the Living Libraries Infrastructure Program.
The Living Libraries Infrastructure Program (LLIP) is a Victorian Government initiative providing grants for upgrading public library facilities supporting diverse projects, from minor refurbishments to major builds.
Initial stages of the project saw the installation of internal block out blinds to reduce and prevent sun damage to our much-loved books and shelving units. Following this, two umbrella style shade sails have now been installed in the courtyard between the Old Shire Hall and Dimboola Library building areas.
These shade structures create a sun-safe outdoor area for public and community use, and Council is looking forward to hosting existing programs like as Storytime here, as well as running new activities in this inviting outdoor space.
