Harmony Day 2026 Celebration
Published on 31 March 2026
Hindmarsh Shire Council and the Hindmarsh Pride Committee were proud to host its Harmony Day – Market and Performances event on Saturday 28 March 2026 at Jaypex Park in Nhill.
Thank you to everyone who helped make the day such a success — from the organisers and performers to stallholders and community members who came along to celebrate. Council extends its gratitude to all the talented performers who shared their skills and helped celebrate the rich diversity of our community. Thank you to the stallholders for your support and for creating a vibrant market atmosphere.
Council would also like to thank Tanisha Lovett for coming out to Nhill to deliver a Welcome to Country and for sharing such a meaningful and respectful opening to the event. Tanisha’s words helped set the tone for a day of inclusion, connection, and community.
A special thank you is to be extended to Wanda Queens of Little Desert for MCing the event, creating a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere, and delivering a wonderful performance on the day. Wanda’s support and contribution to the event made the day such a success.
Thank you to Horsham headspace for attending and running a creative craft station, where participants could paint their own pot plant. Headspace’s contribution added a fun and engaging element to the day. A big thank you to the Hindmarsh Shire Youth Councillors for volunteering their time and providing free popcorn for attendees — a much-loved addition to the day. Council also acknowledge Wimmera Southern Mallee Development for supporting the event by providing transport to and from Horsham, enabling performers and attendees to join in the celebrations.
The day was vibrant, welcoming and full of diversity, and it was wonderful to see the community come together in such a meaningful way.
