Hindmarsh Annual Statutory Meeting 2023

Hindmarsh Shire Council held its Annual Statutory Meeting on Wednesday 8 November 2023 at the Council Chambers in the Nhill Customer Service Centre. At this meeting, Councillors elected the Mayor and Deputy Mayor to represent Hindmarsh Shire for the next 12 months.

Congratulations to Cr Brett Ireland who was re-elected Mayor by his fellow Councillors.

Cr Ireland said “It’s pretty humbling to have my fellow Councillors support and their faith in me as Mayor of Hindmarsh Shire Council for another 12 months. I look forward to working with you all again and to progressing new opportunities with our incoming Chief Executive Officer for the benefit of all our communities. I am excited for the coming year.”

Following the election of the Mayor, the election of the Deputy Mayor was conducted where Cr Wendy Bywaters was elected for the next 12 months. Congratulations Cr Bywaters.

Council also appointed delegates to Council’s advisory committees and community asset committees, as well as external organisations.
