Hindmarsh Shire Youth Council 2025 End of Year Celebration
Published on 22 December 2025
After a very full year, the 2025 Hindmarsh Shire Youth Councillors wrapped up their program with their final event - the Golden Hour Formal - held on Friday 12 December 2025 at the Nhill Memorial Community Centre.
Young people from across Hindmarsh Shire came together to mark the end of the year, enjoying an evening of dancing, singing, social connection, photos and great food. The event was a fantastic success, and Council congratulates the Hindmarsh Shire Youth Councillors on a well-delivered celebration.
Youth Councillors also enjoyed a chance to unwind and reflect on their achievements with an end-of-year break-up, where they went for a swim in the Wimmera River in Dimboola followed by dinner on Wednesday 17 December 2025.
Youth Councillor Lilly said, “2025 was an exciting and jam-packed year for the Youth Council. Starting the year off, 5 Youth Councillors ventured to Melbourne with Nan Da San and Tracey where they learnt important leadership skills that they implemented when running events this year including the games night, discos and the annual Youth Golden Hour Formal.”
2025 Youth Councillors not only made significant contributions through their role on Youth Council but also achieved outstanding success as students and active members of the community. Their accomplishments include being elected as 2026 College Captains, participating in school Student Representative Councils, their involvement in the community and sporting clubs, and balancing part-time employment alongside their studies.
Hindmarsh Shire Council congratulates the 2025 Youth Councillors and thanks them for their dedication and impact throughout the year. We are confident they will continue to demonstrate the strong leadership and commitment they have shown during their time on Youth Council.
Hindmarsh Shire Council Mayor, Cr Ron Ismay said “We are proud of our Youth Councillors for the passion and dedication they have brought to their roles. Their commitment to creating a positive and inclusive environment for themselves, their peers and the wider community has been inspiring. Throughout 2025, they consistently demonstrated outstanding values, genuine care for others and leadership across activities and events.”
