Hindmarsh Shire Council is pleased to announce the commencement of stage two of the Nhill Streetscape Masterplan, focusing on the missing path link between Jaypex Park and Goldsworthy Park and its connectivity to the town centre.

Stage two involves constructing a meandering walking pathway through Centenary Park, linking Jaypex Park to the Nhill Lake pathway at the corner of Victoria Street and Pine Street, as well as to the town centre at Goldsworthy Park. The concrete work is expected to commence in early June.

The Nhill Streetscape Masterplan is part of a broader initiative developed in collaboration with the then Wimmera Mallee Tourism. The intention is to create a more inviting and accessible environment for both residents and visitors by enhancing the connections between key recreational areas and increasing engagement with our local businesses and attractions. The plan seeks to provide greater links between the Nhill shopping precinct, Jaypex Park, and Nhill Lake.

The contractor has been appointed following a detailed public tender process to deliver the concrete construction work and supply and install a black loop fence along the Western Highway. The project is funded through the Australian Government’s Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program – Phase 4, and Hindmarsh Shire Council.

In response to community feedback, the project will address a key safety concern by installing safety fencing along Centenary Park, and also Jaypex Park from the end of the current safety fencing along the car park. The project will also complete a missing path link between Jaypex Park and Goldsworthy Park.

Hindmarsh Shire Council remains committed to working collaboratively with the community to deliver vibrant and accessible public spaces that reflect the region’s identity and enhance the quality of life for all.
