EVENTS IN HINDMARSH SHIRE

Hindmarsh Shire are proud to support and promote local events. There are plenty of things to see and do across the region.

16 DAYS OF ACTIVISM - BYSTANDER TRAINING

As part of ‘16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence,’ Council is offering free Bystander Training on Tuesday 30 November from 5:30 - 6:30pm via Microsoft Teams.

Please register your interest by filling out the JotForm available here.

We will then email you the link to the training.

This training, provided by MATE, acknowledges that every single one of us plays a role in violence prevention—whether it’s something we’re exposed to directly or not. This gives us the opportunity to empower our workplace and our community to recognise when a problematic situation is taking place and develop some skills and tools to effectively interrupt the behaviour. In the session, you will be provided with real-world scenarios in community settings such as sports clubs, workplaces and within CALD Communities that enable you to see how to put the MATE bystander intervention framework into practice.

LEVEL UP GAMING EVENT

The Level Up Team will be heading to Nhill Memorial Comminity Centre on 3 December 2021, from 5-9pm.

We have organised bus transport for young people from Rainbow, Jeparit and Dimboola- follow us on Facebook here to see all updates.

To register, click here.

This event is funded by FReeZA, a Victorian State Government initiative that supports young Victorians to get involved in their community by planning and running drug, alcohol and smoke-free events for other young people.

ACCESSING COUNCIL FACILITIES - VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS

In line with Victorian Government requirements, as of 6pm Friday 29 October 2021, community members will need to show proof of double vaccination to access Councils community facilities including swimming pools, Nhill Memorial Community Centre, community halls and Hindmarsh Shire Libraries in Dimboola, Jeparit, Nhill and Rainbow. You can do this via the Services Victoria app or with a printed Vaccination Certificate and photo ID.

Children under 16, or those with an approved medical exemption, will still be able to access services.
