Apply for Youth Council
If you’re a young person between the ages of 12 and 18 who lives, works or attends school in Hindmarsh Shire, this is an excellent opportunity to support your friends and community, develop your leadership and teamwork skills and make a positive change.
What is Hindmarsh Shire Youth Council and what do they do?
Hindmarsh Shire Youth Council was established in May 2015 and has 12 members, plus the recipient of Hindmarsh Shire Council’s Youth of the Year Award. The Youth Council meets monthly to organise and deliver activities, outdoor movie screenings, pool parties, live music events and hands-on training opportunities. They also work on community initiatives like the school holiday programs, mental health awareness campaigns, and public murals. Through the Youth Council, young people are seen, heard, and have a voice in decisions that impact them.
