Seniors Concerts across Hindmarsh Shire
Published on 01 July 2025
More than 270 senior residents from across Hindmarsh Shire have been treated to free musical entertainment as part of Hindmarsh Shire Councils Seniors Concert series.
Featuring well-known and highly regarded Acoustic Box Duo, concerts were held in Dimboola, Jeparit, Nhill and Rainbow with attendees being able to hear a selection of music and songs from the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and beyond.
The Seniors Concert series was part of Hindmarsh Shire Councils ‘Reconnecting Small Communities through Films and Music’ program that also included a series of films being screened in each of the towns.
The ‘Reconnecting Small Communities through Films and Music’ program was made available through funding received from the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal (FRRR).
Responses from community members who attended were very positive, with many saying they enjoyed all aspects of the concerts including the entertainment and catering.
Hindmarsh Shire Council Mayor, Cr Ron Ismay said, “It is fantastic that Council is able to provide this type of entertainment to our senior residents in their hometowns as it increases their level of access and they feel at home in familiar surroundings.”
Cr Ismay added, “Of course these types of events would not be possible without the support of organisations like FRRR, and we are extremely thankful to them for their funding contribution.”
