Our farming pioneers had it tough, but they were also tenacious, innovative and determined to adapt to their conditions. Jeparit’s Mallee Wimmera Pioneer Museum is testament to that.

The early machinery that was adapted to farm in difficult conditions; the buildings that tell us a little about farming life. The homely touches, the furnished pioneer home, kitchen utensils and artefacts all provide some insight into the many ways families settled, cleared and developed this region into a productive and vibrant farming community.

Museum volunteers are keen to answer your questions and give you a sense of life before modern machines and smart technology.
It is through our history that we learn and the Wimmera Mallee Pioneer Museum is a great place to start. You will need at least half a day to experience all the museum has to offer.
