2025-2026 Regional Community Events Grants Open
Published on 07 August 2025
Applications for the 2025/2026 Hindmarsh Shire Council Regional Community Events Grant program are now open, closing on Thursday 4 September 2025. As part of the 2025/2026 annual budget, Council allocated $30,000 to provide funding for Regional Community Events within Hindmarsh Shire. The aim of the funding is to support the establishment and growth of community events that celebrate culture, heritage, and community wellbeing, boost our local economy, and increase visitation to Hindmarsh Shire.
Eligible groups can apply for funding of up to $7,500, made up of cash and in-kind support as determined by Council, for their event if they meet the eligibility and selection criteria.
In previous years the grant program provided funding for events such as the Wimmera Steampunk Festival, the Peter Taylor Memorial Barefoot Ski Event, Rainbow Big Sky Festival, and the Nhill Airshow. These events have drawn large crowds, increasing visitation and providing economic boosts to local businesses.
Grant guidelines and the online application form can be found on Hindmarsh Shire Council’s website at www.hindmarsh.vic.gov.au/apply-for-grants.
