Building Maintenance Officer

Permanent Full Time

Salary commencing at $72,912 p.a. (plus superannuation)

The Building Maintenance Officer will be responsible for the upkeep of Council owned buildings and facilities across Nhill, Dimboola, Jeparit, Rainbow and everywhere in between. A key part of the role will be conducting Essential Safety Measure reporting, ensuring schedules are in place for routine maintenance and undertaking building maintenance activities.  A background in building, carpentry or a similar role will help you succeed in this role as you will be required to undertake building works as needed.  Basic computer skills will also be required.  This is a highly independent role, and would suit someone who can work without direct supervision. Pride in your work, a high regard for safety, and a continuous improvement mindset will serve you well in this role.

  • Trade qualification in the field (builder, plumber, electrician) would be highly regarded
  • Demonstrated experience in building maintenance
  • Ability to prioritise and plan own work and work independently
  • Ability to conduct building assessments buildings and prepare reports
  • Well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Basic computer skills
  • Willingness to undertake a pre-employment medical, police check and Working with Children Check.
