Nhill Playgroup

Parents with pre-school aged children are welcome to attend our Nhill Supported Playgroup sessions.

Benefits include fun activities for you and your kids, information about local services and supports, tips on child development, self-care strategies and a chance to meet other local families.

As 2024 draws to a close, Hindmarsh Shire Council wants to express our thanks to all community volunteers for their incredible efforts over the past 12 months. Volunteers are at the heart of healthy communities, helping support business and tourism, creating social and recreational events and opportunities, and supporting emergency services to keep us safe.

175 Attendees at 16 Days of Activism Community Walks

Over the past two weeks, Hindmarsh Shire Council has hosted four community walks and barbeque teas in support of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence campaign.

Christmas and New Year Arrangements 2024/2025

Hindmarsh Shire Council Customer Service Centres, Libraries, and Transfer Stations will be subject to closures over the Christmas and New Year period 2024-2025.

All Customer Service Centres, Libraries and Transfer Stations will be closed Friday 20 December 2024 from 11am – 5pm.

Customer Service Centres and Libraries will then be closed over the Christmas and New Year period from 3pm on Monday 23

Changed Transfer Station Operating Hours During the Summer Period

On display until 28 February 2025

Hindmarsh Shire Council intends to modify operating hours for all transfer stations across the municipality during summer for the safety of transfer station attendants as well as the general public. This change will start on Sunday 01 December 2024, and end on Friday 28 February 2025, and applies on all standard opening days.
