WORK EXPERIENCE

Hindmarsh Shire Council offers comprehensive work experience placements to students across a wide range of our departments. Hindmarsh Shire Council's Work Experience Program is available to both secondary and tertiary students who are required to complete a work placement as part of an overall educational requirement.

Our work experience program aims to provide students with the opportunity to gain experience, skills and knowledge in a dynamic Local Government environment, by exposing them to the diverse range of service activities and functions we provide to our local communities.

Our work placements provide students with the ability to put course work into a practical context, gauge their interest and ability in various specialisations, offer experience in the workplace in interpersonal and technical skills and assist them to become more employment-ready with varied experience.

COMMUNITY UPDATES

ACCESSING COUNCIL FACILITIES - VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS

In line with Victorian Government requirements, community members need to show proof of double vaccination to access Councils community facilities including swimming pools, Nhill Memorial Community Centre, community halls and Hindmarsh Shire Libraries in Dimboola, Jeparit, Nhill and Rainbow. You can do this via the Services Victoria app or with a printed Vaccination Certificate and photo ID.

Click and collect services are available at our libraries, along with e-books, e-audiobooks and e-magazines. Telephone your local Hindmarsh Shire Libraries branch to organise click and collect.

Council’s Customer Service Centre in Nhill does not require customers to be double vaccinated. Community members needing access to customer services in person, can attend the Nhill Customer Service Centre at 92 Nelson Street, Nhill. Online services are available on our website or telephone 03 5391 4444 for assistance over the telephone.
