Jack Livingston purchased this site and erected the existing front showroom/office and relocated to these premises in 1954, with the workshop at the rear built in 1958. The office was designed specifically as a solicitor’s office for Higgs, Petersen and Dunne incorporating a fire proof safe.

John Livingston Jnr Pty Ltd operated as Commission Agents and agents for Sunshine, Massey Harris farm machinery and, later, Volkswagen. A fully equipped workshop with qualified mechanics and a showroom with a spare parts department made this a complete farm service centre.

They were an Awarded Mobil Fuel Agent for 70 years service, and later became Agents to West Wimmera Mobil Petroleum. Together with Mobil they pioneered the delivery of bulk fuel.

There were three John Livingston’s who consecutively ran the business until it was sold to Irwin Petroleum (Caltex) in 1986.

Mobil re-purchased the site in 1993 and Gary and Glenda Smith operated the centre and a fuel delivery service from the premises until 2000.
